Something more about Magic Realistic Paintings...

Many artists take their inspiration from some fantasy worlds, their own dreamlike visions and common archetypes. As for archetypes, anyone can choose what's closer to him. As for me, some Christian images and references to Biblical stories seem more closer and touching. Here I'll give some pictures of artist Michael Hiep. I'm particularly amazed with this skeleton bringing new life to the world. And I like how nature is made by the artist. We can feel how he loves it.

Magic realism and paintings

Magic realism is a kind of so-called umbrella terms which are difficult to be defined precisely and which are seemed to be too generalistic. In any case, a "magic realistic" novel deals with the mundane and boring reality in which one day something strange happens. Or else, let's take Marces' Noble prize winning novel. The whole expanded family live together with ghosts and phantoms, strange phenomena occur here and there and all of them (together with the author) don't see anything weird in that!
As for literature, it's clear enough what magic realism means. We'll recall Latin American novels (not all of them, but most of them), Haruki Murakami with his weird, creepy and sometimes even terrible worlds and so one.
But what about a Magic Realistic fine arts? Does it exist? Of course, yes, but it's not so evident as literature. Some pictures of so-called Magic Realistic artists remind of Surrealists, or fantasy illustrators, or Symbolists etc.
For example, Gil Bruvel's works look like illustrations to some semi sci-fi semi fantasy novels.
